About The Florida Source

The Florida Source is an independent guide to Florida. We find the answers people actually search for, check them against official sources, and write them up in plain English.

What we do

Florida trips and Florida living come with questions that are oddly hard to answer. Can you drive on this beach? When do the manatees come in? What can you bring into the speedway? Which evacuation zone are you in? The answers are usually out there, but they’re split across county pages, park sites, event FAQs and old forum posts.

We bring them together:

  • Free answers. Practical pages on the questions visitors, new residents and snowbirds ask most.
  • Florida This Month. A free monthly email covering events, seasonal changes and tips. Sign up below.
  • Printable guides. Planners and resource guides for specific trips and situations, sold as instant PDF downloads in our Etsy shop.

How we check facts

  • Dates, fees, hours, phone numbers and rules come from official sources: county and city governments, Florida State Parks, the National Park Service, NOAA and event organizers.
  • Every answer page shows when it was last checked and links to the official pages, so you can confirm before you go.
  • If we can’t confirm something, we leave it out or say so.
  • Things change, especially fees and event schedules. If you spot something out of date, email hello@thefloridasource.com and we’ll fix it.

Where we cover

We started with Florida’s east-central coast (Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach, Ponce Inlet and the rest of Volusia County) and nearby Central Florida, including Orlando day trips and The Villages area. Over time we’ll add more of the state, one guide at a time.

Independent and unaffiliated

The Florida Source is an independent publisher. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any government agency, park, attraction, sports organization or event. We name places and events only to describe them, and we don’t use official logos.
